The Cambridge Learner Awards are, at their heart, a celebration of human potential. They’re a spotlight on those moments where a student’s hard work, their late-night study sessions, and their sheer determination, translate into something truly remarkable. It’s not just about the grades; it’s about the journey – the challenges overcome, the moments of doubt, and the quiet satisfaction of mastering a difficult concept.
When you think about those “Top in the World” or “High Achievement” awards, you’re really seeing the culmination of someone’s personal story. It’s a story of a student who dared to push themselves, who didn’t back down when things got tough. These awards are a tangible reminder that we, as humans, are capable of incredible things when we put our minds to it. It’s about the quiet, personal victories that add up to something truly special. And that, in itself, is something worth celebrating.
The Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards is a set of awards issued by Cambridge International Education that is granted to students all over the world who performed remarkably in the Cambridge exams. All students taking the exam are eligible for awards, with categories such as “Top in the World,” “Top in Country/Region,” “High Achievement,” and “Best Across.”
This year, Kamilia Mufidah, student of MAN 4 Jakarta’s Cambridge program, has earned the prestigious “High Achievement” award in the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards. This honor is given to students who excel in subjects that are less commonly taken, such as sociology, in Kamilia’s case. Cambridge exams are no easy feat, as it tests students’ knowledge and expertise on a variety of subjects. In sociology, students are evaluated on 7 units spanning two papers. Kamilia had spent months studying, revising, and drilling practice questions in preparation for the exams. While undoubtedly tiring, this hard word ultimately paid off for her, as she is now honored with an award from the CAIE, or Cambridge Assessment International Education.
Another student of MAN 4, Said Rafi Aulia has also achieved an amazing accomplishment of passing all subjects in the exams. In Cambridge evaluations, students are graded with A, B, C, D or E. With A being the highest grade and E the lowest. Rafi successfully achieved an A in mathematics and physics, a B in chemistry, and a C in biology. Getting a grade in one subject is already an immense challenge, so getting four grades is an amazing accomplishment to any student.
Taking the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) provides students their first step to achieving their hopes and dreams, giving them an opportunity to reach their own success. Hopefully this exceptional achievement can be a motivation to learners everywhere to pursue their passion and to grow into the best versions of themselves. To any 12th graders who are currently participating in the exams, remember that every challenge you overcome brings you one step closer to your dreams—stay focused and believe in your hard work. May all of you achieve the best results and success in your journey.
